Welcome to the homepage of the Hungarian formant database

The formant database contains data of the Hungarian vowel formant trajectories based on recordings of a female and a male speaker (reading a list of words aloud). The accuracy of the data was verified manually, therefore the database may be regarded as a reference. The database can be used to study the formant values of the vowels and the formant trajectories as a function of the sound cluster (mean values, trends, grouping, formant movements, distributions etc.). The database may also be used as a tool in education (tasks, measurements, demonstation of typical trends etc.).
