This interactive Hungarian pronunciation dictionary contains 1.5 million lexical items. The exact definition of a lexical item (word): a unit in a written text that consists of a series of letters bounded by spaces on both sides. In this respect, the present dictionary differs from traditional dictionaries, because it includs both bare stems and suffixed forms. Due to this difference, practically any Hungarian word can be looked up and its pronunciation can be accessed in a written form and certain items in a spoken form as well. The pronunciation is given by the following selectable speech sound symbols: IPA or SAMPA.
